Disclaimer
Last updated: July 23, 2026ClaimWise is an educational website. It is free to read, we sell nothing, and nothing on this site is legal, financial, or insurance advice for your specific situation.
1. What this site is
ClaimWise publishes general educational information about how insurance works in the United States — how policies are structured, how claims are processed, what your options are when something goes wrong, and where the official channels are. Our goal is that you understand your own situation well enough to make your own decisions.
2. What this site is not
We do not sell, broker, or arrange insurance. We do not quote policies, we do not connect you with agents, and we do not receive a commission when you buy anything.
We are not licensed professionals. The people who write for ClaimWise are not licensed insurance agents, licensed public adjusters, or attorneys. We do not hold ourselves out as any of those things.
Nothing here is advice about your situation. Every policy is different. Every state's insurance law is different. Two people with what looks like the same problem can have entirely different rights depending on their policy language, their state, and the facts of their loss.
3. We do not promise outcomes
We will never tell you that an appeal will succeed, that a complaint will be resolved in your favour, or that you will recover a specific amount. Where we cite success rates or statistics, they come from published sources, they describe general populations, and they are not a prediction about you.
4. Information can go out of date
Insurance is regulated at the state level and the rules change. Statutes are amended, deadlines change, programs are created and closed, and insurers revise their policy forms. We date our pages and we update them, but you should always confirm anything time-sensitive with a primary source before you rely on it.
5. Always confirm with a licensed professional
For anything involving money, deadlines, or a decision you cannot reverse, consult someone qualified and licensed in your state. Depending on your situation, that may be:
- A licensed insurance agent or broker
- A licensed public adjuster
- An attorney licensed in your state
- Your state Department of Insurance — which answers consumer questions and accepts complaints at no cost to you
6. Our sources
Statistics and factual claims on this site are drawn from primary sources — state Departments of Insurance, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, the Federal Trade Commission, federal agencies, and public court records — and we link to them. We do not cite marketing material as fact.
7. We do not publish invented cases or testimonials
Any case discussed on this site comes from a public record, with the source linked. We do not write fictional customer stories, we do not publish testimonials, and we do not present composite or AI-generated accounts as if they were real people's experiences.
8. External links
We link to government agencies, regulators and other third-party sites for reference. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or their privacy practices.
9. Advertising
This site is free to read and is funded by advertising, including Google AdSense. Advertisements are served by third parties and are clearly distinguishable from our editorial content. Advertisers have no influence over what we write or how we cover a topic, and we do not accept payment to publish, alter or remove editorial content.
10. Corrections and right of reply
If something on this site is wrong, we want to fix it. Write to us and we will correct the page and note the date of the change. If you represent a company we have written about and you want to respond, we will publish your reply. See our methodology page for details.
11. Limitation of liability
You use this site at your own discretion. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClaimWise is not liable for any loss or damage arising from decisions made on the basis of information published here. This is educational content, not a professional service, and it is provided without warranty of any kind.
